Structural Integrity of the Record
Validly was established to provide a permanent, verifiable architecture for truth in an era of algorithmic fluidity. We do not merely report; we verify.
Origin Story: The Signal in the Noise
Founded in 2019 by former investigative journalists and data scientists, Validly emerged from a crisis of confidence in the modern information ecosystem.
The genesis of Validly was the realization that speed had eclipsed accuracy in global news distribution. When the "London Bridge Incident" and subsequent geopolitical flashpoints demonstrated how easily unverified data could be weaponized, our founders—Elena Rostova and Marcus Thorne—recognized that traditional editorial oversight was insufficient.
We built Validly not as a news outlet, but as a verification layer. Our headquarters, located in a repurposed industrial zone in Berlin, houses our primary servers and editorial board. We operate on a simple premise: if a claim cannot be traced to a primary source, it does not exist in our archive.
Mission: Post-Truth Clarity
Our mission is to deconstruct the architecture of information to reveal the underlying facts.
Methodology Over Narrative
We publish our verification code and source lineages alongside our articles. Every claim in the Validly Index is linked to its primary documentation—court records, raw footage, or official government filings.
The Permanent Record
History is often rewritten by the victors. Validly utilizes blockchain-anchored hashing to ensure that once a story is archived, its metadata and content cannot be altered without a public audit trail.
Mapping the Disinformation
We do not just fact-check; we map. Our data science team visualizes how false narratives spread across social graphs, identifying the nodes of amplification and the origin points of fabrication.
Governance & Oversight
To ensure our integrity remains uncompromised by commercial or political pressure, Validly operates under a unique governance model.
Editorial Independence
The Board consists of five senior editors with backgrounds in law, academia, and investigative journalism. They hold veto power over any content that fails to meet our strict "Verifiable Truth" standard.
External Audit
An independent committee of media ethicists reviews our methodology quarterly. Their reports are published publicly, ensuring we remain accountable to the standards we set for others.
Subscription & Grants
Validly does not accept advertising. We are funded by institutional subscriptions, academic grants, and individual memberships. This ensures our allegiance is solely to the truth.
