Meet the Editors

The Architecture of Verifiable Truth is maintained by a multidisciplinary team of investigative journalists, data scientists, and media theorists.

Our editorial board is not a monolith; it is a coalition of specialists dedicated to dismantling the mechanisms of disinformation. From forensic archival research to statistical modeling of narrative spread, every voice in this room is trained to look past the headline and into the code.

Editor-in-Chief

Elena Vance

Formerly of the London Review of Books and the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, Elena Vance brings two decades of rigorous editorial discipline to Validly.

Vance’s career is defined by her work on the 2016 Financial Statecraft series, which traced illicit capital flows across three continents. At Validly, she oversees the ethical framework of our reporting, ensuring that our pursuit of truth never compromises the integrity of our methodology.

"Journalism is not about being first; it is about being right, and being able to prove it when the dust settles."

Head of Data Analysis

Dr. Aris Thorne

Dr. Thorne is the architect behind Validly’s proprietary verification engine. A computational linguist by training, he previously led the digital forensics unit at a major European intelligence agency.

His work focuses on "narrative epidemiology"—tracking how specific linguistic structures and claims mutate as they travel through social networks. Thorne’s algorithms allow us to identify coordinated inauthentic behavior with 99.4% accuracy, distinguishing organic discourse from bot-driven amplification.

"Data doesn't lie, but the visualization of it often does. We strip away the design to reveal the raw signal."

Sarah Jenkins

Focus: Tech Policy & Algorithmic Bias

A former policy advisor for the FTC, Jenkins deconstructs the regulatory failures that allow disinformation to thrive on major platforms. She holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems from MIT.

03 / SENIOR CORRESPONDENT

Kenji Sato

Focus: Financial Markets & Crypto-Assets

Sato tracks the flow of capital in decentralized finance, exposing how "rug pulls" and market manipulation are often orchestrated by the same networks responsible for political disinformation.

The Network

Freelance Network

Validly operates a decentralized network of over 150 contributing writers and local analysts in 40 countries.

While our core editorial team manages the systemic analysis, our freelance network provides the ground-level verification necessary to validate claims in real-time. Whether it is a protest in Santiago, a legislative session in New Delhi, or a court hearing in Lagos, our network ensures that no major event goes unverified.

All freelance contributors undergo a rigorous 4-week training program on our verification protocols and source citation standards before they are granted access to The Index.
